Overview:
In this video Rob puts two suppressed 6MM Creedmoor rifles of completely different budgets up against each other to see how performance is effected at 100 yards, 500 yards and 1,000 yards. The Ruger American Predator is a budget friendly rifle that, with a few modifications, can hold its own against the Accuracy International rifle. The ammo used was Sierra Match King 107 GR 6MM CM. Both rifles used the Dead Air Nomad L suppressors. The resulting groups are fairly surprising!

Hey everybody, Rob Orgel with Silencer Syndicate. We're out here testing our silence at the 1,000 yard range with 6mm Creedmoor. In today's video, we wanted to follow up the previous video where we talked about putting suppressors on long range rifles. Now some guys like the muzzle brakes and don't mind the dust getting kicked up. Guys like me, I love running a suppressor. And when I shoot far, my favorite caliber to do that with is 6mm Creedmoor. Why do I like it so much? Because it's flat, it's fast, it's mean. It doesn't care much about the wind and it has almost no recoil, especially when you add a suppressor to the end of that weapon. So what was the test on this video? We took the same suppressors, dead air Nomad Ls. We took the same ammunition, Sierra Match King ammunition from Sierra Manufacturing. These are 107 SMKs against Sierra Match Kings. And we went 22 inches, which means we had the Accuracy International barrel cut from 24 inches down to 22 inches to match the Ruger American Predator. So we have the Honda Civic Ruger American Predator. We have the Accuracy International Ferrari. The Ruger comes at around 500ish dollars, 550, 600ish. The Accuracy International rifle is typically around $7,000 and up. So we're truly talking Ferrari versus Honda Civic. Well you might be surprised how similarly they both performed. Both of these rifles running the same ammunition side by side, shoot one, rotate, shoot the other, only firing 9 bullets per rifle. In other words, I didn't shoot 6 groups and pick my favorite. I fired 3 rounds per yard line per rifle, 18 round test. Now the Ruger American Predator and its MDT chassis, Timney trigger, obviously we can throw in some optic costs and some little expenses to include the suppressors and tax stamps, but the heart of the rifle is still a $500 rifle. At 100 yards it shot .25 of an inch. Now the Accuracy International at 100 yards shot .3 inches. These are very good groups. Most precision shooters hunt for that sub half inch and that's really good. These are both performing very well in not just their 100 yard but moving to the 500. At 500 yards the Ruger American Predator did 1.3 inches. That's quite impressive for 500. The Accuracy International did 5.5 inches. This is a little bit more on par of what we expect for precision rifles, about 1 MOA, that's like 5 inches at 500. Honestly, I rushed it and I didn't go back and shoot it again so I wanted to be totally true honest and fair in this review. Finally, we went to the 1000 yard line. That 1000 yards, the Ruger American Predator shot 4.25 inches and the Accuracy International rifle shot a flat 4 inches. You'll see as we dissect the target there's some left and right and that's because the wind was dancing between full value and quarter value and rather than shift with the wind in order to get the best impacts, I decided to hold in the same spot the entire time and fire rapidly so that the wind would not change too much between shots and that's where you'll see some to the left and some to the right. This isn't a testament to calling wind, this is a testament to the bullets consistency. Having said that, both of these rifles performed extremely well when it comes to accuracy. So you won't get a fair fight in which one's more accurate because they're both incredibly accurate. Quite simply, the features is what makes the AI so expensive. Accuracy Internationals in a way cheat the system. They're so heavy that they're just easier to shoot. They come with a quick change barrel system so you can change your calibers or your barrel rapidly to include barrel length. They also have a folding chassis and a very modular chassis where you can change just about everything about the cheek weld and anything in between. So feature rich absolutely. But the Ruger American Predator inside of a chassis still performs incredibly well and saves a ton of money. So as we dissect the two, let's say the Ferrari if you're really into it, serious benefits but heavy cost. The Ruger, very affordable, easy to get into rifle, throw a chassis and a trigger into it and you really can compete with an Accuracy International rifle. And the best part about the Ruger, it saves a ton of weight. The Accuracy International rifle is substantially heavier than the Ruger. A pro and a con, depending upon how you look at this, is the action. The Accuracy International action is so smooth, honestly I can't feel if it picks up a round or not so I have to go to bolt over watch in between to see if there's a round in there. It's a buttery smooth action. Some people love that, I can see why some people don't love that. The Ruger, the action's a little bit stiffer which is why I'll do an oversized bolt handle to give me more leverage to run that bolt hard. In addition, I feel it pick up that round which you could say is an advantage or disadvantage. Alright hopefully this helps you and your purchasing power seeing that we went head to head, same ammo, same barrel length, same suppressor, same day, three rounds, rotate three rounds, same everything to give us a very controlled experiment and help us understand more about our purchasing power when it comes to long range shooting. Alright if you like this video do me a favor, like, comment, subscribe, it really really helps us. Please consider subscribing, it goes a long way for us and those shares mean the world to us. Your comments are kind and we love it, please keep it up. Having wrapped up this video, tell me between the two rifles if you could pick one for free which one it would be. As always stay safe and we'll see you in the comments.
