JK Armament’s Latest Suppressor Technology at CANCON 2024
Hey everyone, Rob Orgel here at CANCON 2024, and today we’re diving deep at the JK Armament booth. If you’ve been following along, you know I’ve been busy testing their 12 gauge suppressor, which has been fascinating, especially in
terms of weight savings.

Introducing the GOAT 5.56 Suppressor
The talk of the booth is their GOAT 5.56 suppressor. This piece is specifically engineered from the ground up for 5.56 applications. It’s all about achieving low back pressure and high flow, alongside impressive flash reduction. They weren’t aiming for just another loud, high-flow suppressor—this one’s designed to compete at the highest levels in terms of sound and flash suppression.
The Arch Enemy: Back Pressure
For those of you who follow the channel, you know back pressure is my arch nemesis. There’s nothing worse than tearing up from the gas while you’re trying to focus on shooting. Thankfully, the GOAT 5.56 is crafted to tackle that issue head-on, making it a potential game changer for many shooters.
User Modularity and Customization
One of the standout features of the GOAT 5.56 is its user modularity. Each baffle is individually threaded, allowing for customization based on the barrel length or shooter preference. Imagine testing this suppressor on different barrel lengths—from 10.5″ to 14.5″—while maintaining the same overall firearm length. This kind of versatility offers substantial benefits in terms of velocity gains and sound performance without necessitating an SBR configuration.
Testing and Anticipation
We’ve got a demo unit coming our way soon, so we can really put it through its paces. I’m excited to test it across various configurations to see how it performs in real-world scenarios. The aim is to provide you all with comprehensive insights into how the GOAT 5.56 stacks up against other suppressors in its class.
Live Fire Test Impressions
At the booth, I couldn’t resist the urge to test it out right there. Running a mag right-handed and then left-handed, I tried to gas myself out just to see how it would handle. Even on a standard gas system, the GOAT 5.56 performed impressively minimal gas to the face and quite quiet, honestly. I’m eager to see how it does in a more controlled testing environment.
Final Thoughts
The potential of JK Armament’s GOAT 5.56 suppressor is exciting. Its design promises to bring a blend of performance and comfort that could set new standards in the suppressor market. If you’re as excited as I am about this, make sure to stay tuned for detailed testing results.
